Protection of personal data

Personal data submitted through this portal are collected and processed under the responsibility of the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS).

Personal data are collected in order to manage applications and to assess candidates’ suitability for the positions offered within the Lightcone Research team. The legal basis for the processing is the performance of pre-contractual measures taken at the candidate’s request, in accordance with Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The data collected include, in particular, identity and contact details, data relating to the candidate’s professional background, answers to the application forms, as well as communications with candidates and notes taken during interviews.

The data are hosted in the European Union. Some technical service providers may nevertheless process data outside the European Economic Area, in compliance with the safeguards provided for by the GDPR.

The recipients of the personal data collected are the members of the Lightcone Research team directly involved in the recruitment. For successful candidates, the data necessary to establish a contract may also be transmitted to the Fondation CNRS.

In accordance with Articles 12 to 23 of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) No 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 and with the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés No 78-17 of 6 January 1978, as amended), you have, under the conditions laid down by those texts, the right to access, rectify, and erase your data, to restrict their processing, and to data portability.

If you consider that your data protection rights are not being respected, you may lodge a complaint with the French supervisory authority, the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL), online or by post.

How long personal data are kept

Personal data relating to an application are deleted when the corresponding recruitment is closed. In any event, they are not kept for more than two years from the last contact with the candidate.
